A Time of Change

This week we've been thinking a lot about all of the changes that this new baby will bring to our lives. It's exciting, but also quite scary. We've been leading a pretty crazy (albeit amazing) life the last 3 years. However, we tend to just go - go - go (here, there and everywhere). One way or another, that will have to change. Strangely enough, the last two weeks we've actually been coming home from the office by 6 (mostly because 2 days a week Stephen has class starting at 7) and it's almost odd to be home every night. My dishes are actually getting done. We START dinner before nine. Crazy things like that are becoming our "normal." And this is just the beginning!

We don't really know or understand what God has in store for us over the next couple of months let alone farther into the years. But, I guess that is one of the unknown joys of life. As we reflect on the last 3 years of our marriage (that's right - 3 years ALREADY on Tuesday!!!) we see how in EVERY area of our life, God continues to bless us abundantly. We have all that we need. We have family that loves and supports us. We are blessed to love what we do for a living. We have made WONDERFUL friends. We share more love than I thought possible. And, in more ways than I could ever count or list, God continues to amaze us with His grace and provision in all areas of our lives. I guess that, and really that alone, makes this NEW change in our life a little less scary. God IS our rock, our strength, our hope, and our salvation. If, by God's grace, we can pass that truth on to our child, THAT would be our greatest accomplishment. Bring on the adventure!

  1. What a beautiful entry -- indeed God is working in your lives. This new beautiful baby is just one more way He shows his love for you.

We sit in Denver anxiously awaiting news along this journey, and the eventual arrival in early 2008. Love to you all -- and how nice to have found this blog. Carol
