A Time of Change

This week we've been thinking a lot about all of the changes that this new baby will bring to our lives. It's exciting, but also quite scary. We've been leading a pretty crazy (albeit amazing) life the last 3 years. However, we tend to just go - go - go (here, there and everywhere). One way or another, that will have to change. Strangely enough, the last two weeks we've actually been coming home from the office by 6 (mostly because 2 days a week Stephen has class starting at 7) and it's almost odd to be home every night. My dishes are actually getting done. We START dinner before nine. Crazy things like that are becoming our "normal." And this is just the beginning!

We don't really know or understand what God has in store for us over the next couple of months let alone farther into the years. But, I guess that is one of the unknown joys of life. As we reflect on the last 3 years of our marriage (that's right - 3 years ALREADY on Tuesday!!!) we see how in EVERY area of our life, God continues to bless us abundantly. We have all that we need. We have family that loves and supports us. We are blessed to love what we do for a living. We have made WONDERFUL friends. We share more love than I thought possible. And, in more ways than I could ever count or list, God continues to amaze us with His grace and provision in all areas of our lives. I guess that, and really that alone, makes this NEW change in our life a little less scary. God IS our rock, our strength, our hope, and our salvation. If, by God's grace, we can pass that truth on to our child, THAT would be our greatest accomplishment. Bring on the adventure!

HOT!

So, today I'm deciding that I don't like the heat and I'm a big fan of air conditioning! Is this pregnancy going to change my whole outlook on life and ALL of my preferences!??!!? Apparently it's only 95 out. A few weeks ago it was over 100 every day and I was doing fine. Maybe I just have a tolerance of only SO MANY hot days before I get tired of them. At least the skies have been really beautiful in El Paso the last few days. The last few evenings I have been out and about right around sunset. There have been BIG puffy clouds turning lots of pretty colors and one night the way the sun hit the mountains they sky looked purple and the mountains red! It was REALLY pretty! Anyway, I was just sitting here in the office, being hot, and thought maybe I should write about it!

First Good Baby Photos

Well, today we had a Dr. appointment. Our Dr. switched to a new office and so it took FOREVER! I had to repeat my entire medical history and entering it in the computer took SO LONG! The good part of all of that is....my Dr. felt bad that we were there so long and even though I wasn't supposed to have an ultrasound this time, she did it so we could see the baby.

We got 3 cute pictures! It really is a little tiny person in there!!!!

On this one you can see the baby's head on the left, stomach in the middle, and feet up in the air.

Here the baby is kind of looking up at you and is waving with the right hand.

Here is the baby's face (see the eye sockets a little darker) and is really waving the right hand. You can see the little hand so clear.

The baby was moving around a LOT while the Dr. was trying to get good pictures and to get a good view and take a measurement. The Dr. said (jokingly) that it must be a boy because it was being so stubborn! But, I think baby was just showing off!
In 4 weeks we go back for another appointment and one week after that we get a 3-D ultrasound. Pretty cool!
