A New Toy

I made J a new toy the other day. I got the idea from a friend who is FULL of good ideas and great advice. We used a coffee can and cut a hole in the lid and soda bottle caps. I actually made two. One for the caps to fit in on their side, and one regular like you put them on the bottle. However, the one that was just a circle ended up being too easy for J so now he just has one.

The toy was a HIT and he actually played with it for a LONG time before deciding it was time for another activity. The next day I took it with us to a meeting at church and on some errands where we had to wait in line and it occupied him very happily for quite a while both of those places too!

Whoops!

J knows he's not supposed to play with the dog food but he can't seem to resist the dish. The other day he got a little too close and lost his balance. WHOOPS!

He wasn't too sure how to get up and eventually needed a hand. Jack was wondering how he was going to get his food if that kiddo wasn't going to move!

Big Kid Easter Fun

On Tuesday J and I took a few fun activities to mariachi rehearsal.

An egg relay...

First walking forward, then walking backwards, then holding the egg over their head (it wasn't until this step that someone actually dropped one!), then skipping (we lost 3 or 4 here), then bunny hopping (the rest of the dozen went quickly)!

Then a Easter Egg Hunt Race. The basic idea - 3 teams each assigned specific colors to find. The first person from the team could run onto the field, pick up 2 eggs, return to their team, tag the next person in line, and then the next person could go.

I think they had a good time! :-)

Hungry or Sleepy???

It's kind of a toss up....

But in the end....sleeping wins!

Skills

Here are a few short videos of all the skills Jaden has been acquiring. Sometimes he still gets a few things confused and he never gets the questions about what anything besides a car says right. I think he just likes to say VROOM!

Here is one more fun thing.

And here, you see that the doctor, when saying that babies younger than 18 months can't manage to actually get food to their mouth with silverware on their own, was WRONG about this guy (even if it is a little messy sometimes).

Fun Days

So, J is taking a nap and I should probably be working or making changes to the final draft of my paper AGAIN but, I can't really think. So....pictures are more fun!

J got a new toy in the mail from Grandma & Grandpa K. Little People Beach set. Pretty cool although it takes a bit more pretending than the Little People bus or plane so he's still figuring it out.

The pink umbrella seems to be his favorite part. That is the part that seems to end up in a different room everyday as he carries it around with him.

Last Thursday we went to the office like usualy. J was dressed in a cute outfit he got from Lizette for his birthday. He apparently thinks he is just too cool!

He and Camilla are starting to get along better and are figuring out how to SHARE their toys.

It's been increasingly nicer here (although today is going to get a bit warm at 88!) so we've been eating outside every now and then. Mac & Cheese. Mmmmm........

This is an example of what I get to look forward to every morning.

We call this the "rock star" do!

Lasagna

I'm too lazy to re-post my entire story here so....check out this site for our latest great meal.
